Hey guys, I have seriously been slacking on my blog…. I know. But I’m back in full force and have my mind focused majorly on August. I had such a great meet today that will definitely be HUGE for my blog and I’m so excited to be able to have a lot more content to share with you guys!
I’m probably a bit late with the whole Micellar Water thing but I didn’t want to leave a review about it until I had used it enough and had a fair opinion about it.
At first I was pretty confused about it, I think the word “water” made it sound like that was all I was putting on my face, which would NEVER work for me. I wear pretty heavy makeup daily and knew that water wouldn’t do the job so quiet frankly I was kind of skeptical about it, but I know soooo many people rave about it so I gave it a shot.
So the whole purpose of Micellar Water is to replace washing your face with soaps and WATER! How weird right? The French swear by it and the rest of the world is jumping on the band wagon. The French believe that normal tap water is too harsh on your face which leads to dry and dull skin. (It’s totally amazing for dry winter skin, you can read all about that here)
So my first time using Garnier’s Micellar Water I thought it was pretty similar to using a toner, put some of the liquid onto a cotton pad and wipe. The main difference is that Micellar Water removes impurities from your skin such as makeup, oil and dirt whilst cleansing your skin, whereas toner literally tones your skin. The best part; it’s kind of hydrating, like your skin does not feel tight or dry at all after you’ve used it.
I was so worried that by only using Micellar Water and not actually “washing” my face would make my skin breakout a bit and that did not happen at all! My face reacted so well to it actually, my skin felt very rejuvenated and soft. Usually when I wake up in the morning my skin is dying for some moisture, but using this Micellar Water, it’s been perfectly moisturized. I really think it’s a super interesting product that is practical, it’s so easy to clean your face anywhere and it’s so effective. I’ve really come to love this product and would totally recommend it to anyone.
I would suggest still doing weekly exfoliation and using a skin toner just to keep your skin in tip-top shape. Apparently there is also an oil based Micellar Water that is for very dry skin, I’m defos going to be testing it out and I’ll let you guys know.
Have an amazing weekend.
