August Podcast Review

Sweater (Sold Out) / Coat / Bag / Shoes / Jeans

We just got back from one of my favorite little towns in South Africa, Parys! I adore the little shops, antiques and art galleries. We stopped for lunch at Hoi Pollio and ended with Italian gelato. Overall just a damn good day!

Darryn and I have been listening to How I Built This podcast for a little over a month now, and it has been so inspiring and extremely motivating. We have drooled over every single episode and we LOVE IT!  I think every blogger/business owner/ person has gone through a patch wondering if anything will come about their business, and is it possible to make it into a career, and I’ve kind of been in that rut wondering if I should pursue this or not. This podcast has kind of given me that motivational push I needed to continue. As they say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

How I Built this is hosted by Guy Raz, who in my opinion is one of the top podcast hosts I’ve ever listened to. The podcast focuses on how small ideas transformed into multi-million dollar businesses, the struggles, the failures and everything in between. It has seriously uplifted both Darryn and I to keep at what we are doing and chase our goals.

My favorite episode by far was Spanx. It’s all about the insane trouble one woman (who was selling fax machines) went through in order to get a product that she genuinely believed in, out on the market. It’s seriously amazing, and funny and gutsy. It’s perfect.

Other episodes we enjoyed were Drybar, Chicken Salad Chick, and Patagonia. Trust me, anyone will love these!

So if you’ve listened to any of these, let me know which one was your favorite, did you think any were kind of boring? (*cough Chuck E. Cheese) If you haven’t listened to this podcast, download just one episode, I promise you’ll be hooked!
